E.COOLINE COOLING COTHES FOR
MORE HEALTH AND SAFETY IN PROTECTIV SUITS
HEAT STRESS IS DANGEROUS
The heat stresses in protective clothing are enormous, especially in summer – often with health consequences. In addition, high temperatures also shorten the working time in the protective suit. Timely breaks are necessary to recover and ensure operational readiness. At each break, the protective suit is taken off and a new one is put on after the break. This increases the risk of contamination. The suits must then of course be disposed of or decontaminated and new suits are needed.

SWEATING IN A PROTECTIVE SUIT MAKES YOU TIRED AND UNFOCUSED
Much depends on the success of the use of protective suits. The health and operational capability of the medical personal and emergency service who use protective suits is of the utmost importance. The material of the suits is dense and airtight. High heat and excessive sweating are the result. Sweating needs an enormous amount of energy. You quickly feel exhausted and flabby. The cardiovascular load and core body temperature rise – often to the range of feverish temperatures that others would stay in bed with. Heat collapse and other heat-related health problems can occur. Older staff members are particularly at risk.
The use of protective suits has risks.
Under heat, the ability to concentrate decreases and it is easier to make mistakes. This is dangerous for others but also for yourself. Especially when taking off the suit, dangerous contaminations often occur from which the suit is supposed to protect. With decreasing concentration this happens more often.
This means that there is an easy risk of failure in a protective suit. In current times, when personnel is scarce, cooling can help to protect the emergency personnel, prevent staff shortfall and improve the crisis with healthy and efficient emergency and medical personnel.

heat protection strategy with 660-watt cooling capacity
WORK LONGER IN A PROTECTIVE SUIT WITH COOLING
E.COOLINE – is the climate-neutral “air conditioning system to wear”, to keep staff healthy, concentrated and efficient even when wearing a protective suit. Active cooling function clothing is ready for use within a minute, mobile and can be used anywhere, even under extreme conditions. Thanks to the 3D COOLINE SX3 technology, emergency forces are actively cooled for hours at up to 660 watts. The activation works in seconds and the clothing remains hygienic and dry compared to most cooling systems. The cooling vests, cooling shirts, cooling headgear as well as arm and leg cooling is simply used under the protective suit and during breaks. This takes the strain off the cardiovascular system and allows you to work much more concentrated over the entire period. This significantly increases your safety and health and keeps you fit.
Another decisive advantage of E.COOLINE: While you do not get the heat stress to zero, the time spent in the suit can be doubled. This was the result of tests carried out with emergency personnel in various protective suits. Â As a result of Using E.COOLINE the number of protective suits required can be reduced significantly. An important factor in the current lack of protective equipment.

why you should use e.cooline in a protective suit
effective heat protection in the csa
- Double the maximum working time
- Reduces the use of disposable protective suits
- Better concentration while working
- Higher safety while changing the suit
- Better health and security for professionals
tests in the zytron 400i prove efficiency
OPERATING TIME DOUBLED
BY E.COOLINE
Practical tests have already proven the effectiveness: With E.COOLINE cooling vests and head cooling, e.g. a bandana, the working time in a chemical protective suit (also in other protective suits) can be significantly extended. The results of the tests in the Zytron 400 i (chemical protective suit) at the Darmstadt fire brigade clearly show:

TEST PERSONS WITHOUT COOLING
1.24 hours max.
interior much wetter
higher physical effort

TEST PERSONS WITH COOLING
2.5 hours max.
interior almost dry
higher safety also for
longer periods of time

The cooling in a chemical protective suit has its limits at some point – after all, this is a closed system. The working time in these suits is basically limited by heat, at the latest when high outside temperatures are added. By using cooling, such as a cooling vest and a cooling headgear, this operating time can be extended. In contrast, the suit without cooling is usually replaced much earlier and a second suit must be used. Also, the durability of the suits suffer from the many decontaminations. If the work can be done with cooling, it also benefits the health and less hazardous waste is created. This helps the environment but also the supply of suits for the population. Protective suits are in short supply due to the corona pandemic.

extension of operating times only possible through cooling
CIVIL PROTECTION OF THE GERMAN GOVERNMENT OFFICE RECOMMENDSÂ COOLING
The operating times in the protective suit are reduced at the latest when it is hot. More breaks mean more protective suits. In current times protective suits are rare. How can longer periods of use in a protective suit be achieved?
The basic prerequisite is to reduce the thermal load by cooling. The use of cooling vests is therefore recommended. This is the result of a study conducted by Civil Defence Research on behalf of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
one cooling technology for every situation
E.COOLINE WORKS EVEN UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS
Whether in a chemical accident, in the Ebola crisis area or in the fight against the corona virus: E.COOLINE’s high-tech technology works effectively even under extreme conditions. Depending on the respective conditions, the cooling garment can be used immediately under the protective suit or can be boosted beforehand (COOL-TO-GO system). Reducing body temperature before or after physical work makes sense, as studies have shown. Regeneration during breaks is particularly important so that emergency and medical personnel are fit again quickly. Cooling is a very effective regeneration method that saves energy which is urgently needed for the next operation. Depending on the situation, there is a suitable solution with cooling vests & Co. working healthy and concentrated
IT IS TIME FOR THE PERFECT HEAT PROTECTION STRATEGY
Currently we have an exceptional situation worldwide. The Corona Pandemic has us all in its grip and the protection of the population is the priority for everyone!
As this is a medical emergency, professional personnel and the necessary emergency services are urgently needed to cope with this crisis. There is already a lack of personnel and material, such as enough protective suits, to protect them from the COVID 19 pathogen while working. Virologist Professor Christian Drosten and others predict the peak of the pandemic for the summer. At summer temperatures working in a protective suit will be torture. Concentration will drop and cardiovascular problems will occur. To top it all off, demand of suits will go up even further. The staff must take more breaks. Breaks lead to an increase of the use of suits, since the protective suits must be disposed of after each use. In order to avoid a “heat crisis” in summer, we will do everything possible to protect employees in protective suits by cooling them and thus better guarantee personnel and supplies.
Stay healthy!
